My projector is badged GF-780 rather than XD600U — will VLT-XD600LP still fit?
Yes. GF-780, GW-760 and GX-740 are rebadged versions of the same Mitsubishi chassis as the XD600U and FD630U, and all thirteen variants take this lamp. Check the model plate on the underside of the unit if you are unsure which name applies.
What's the difference between FD630U and FD630U-G?
Both use the identical VLT-XD600LP lamp; the suffix reflects a regional or distribution variant rather than a different internal engine. If your projector carries either designation, this lamp is the correct match.
Can I fit the bare lamp myself?
Most Mitsubishi XD600 and WD620 series projectors give access to the lamp through a panel on the top or side of the casing, secured by one or two screws. Power down and unplug the unit first, and let it cool before opening the panel.
Does the lamp timer reset automatically?
No. After fitting VLT-XD600LP you will usually need to reset the lamp-hour counter through the projector's on-screen menu, otherwise it may keep warning that the old lamp is due for replacement even though a new one is fitted.
How do I know if I need the bare lamp or the module?
If the plastic housing and cage from your current lamp are intact and the connector isn't damaged, the bare lamp lets you reuse them. If the housing is cracked, discoloured from overheating, or the connector pins look burnt, choose a module version instead.
