This is the module edition of SP-LAMP-072, the 280-watt, 3000-hour lamp InFocus specifies for its IN3118HD projector. Rather than a bare bulb, the lamp arrives already fitted into a new housing, so the whole cartridge is replaced as a single unit rather than transferring a bulb between cages.

Fitting the module involves no direct handling of the bulb itself: release the old cartridge from its bay, usually secured by one or two screws, and slide this one in until it locks. This is the quicker of the two options we list for the IN3118HD, at a small premium over the bare-lamp version. SP-LAMP-072 is the only part number for this lamp.

Common questions

Why choose the module over the bare lamp for an IN3118HD?
The module avoids any need to open your old housing and handle the bulb, since the whole cartridge is replaced in one step. It costs a little more than the bare lamp.

Does the IN3118HD need any other lamp code besides SP-LAMP-072?
No, SP-LAMP-072 is the only lamp InFocus lists for the IN3118HD, and it is the same 280-watt specification whether you buy the bare bulb or this module.

How long should SP-LAMP-072 last before I need to replace it again?
It's rated for approximately 3000 hours of typical use, after which brightness usually starts to fall off and the projector may flag a lamp warning on screen.

What tools do I need to fit this module?
Usually just a small screwdriver to release the lamp bay cover. The module itself lifts out and the replacement slides in without any further disassembly required.

Is the price difference between bare lamp and module just the housing?
Broadly yes, the module costs more because it includes a full replacement housing around the bulb rather than just the bulb sold on its own.
