Sony VPL-DX147 projector lamp
The Sony VPL-DX147 takes lamp LMP-D213, a 210 W lamp rated for 3,000 hours. It comes as a complete module, with the bulb already fitted in its housing. It fits 17 Sony models in total.
The code moulded into your old lamp or printed on its housing may be any of these. They are the same part. If the code on your lamp appears in this table, it fits the Sony VPL-DX147.
| Code | Used by |
|---|---|
LMP-D213 | Sony original part number |
The code printed on your old lamp or its housing should match one of the codes listed above. Sony and third-party suppliers sell the same lamp under several numbers.
The model number is on a label on the base or rear of the projector, and in the on-screen menu under Information. Still unsure? Send a photo of the old lamp and we'll confirm the match.
If your projector is one of these rather than the VPL-DX147, the same lamp is the correct part.

- Turn the projector off and unplug the AC power cord from the wall outlet.
- Let the lamp cool for at least one hour - it stays very hot after shutdown.
- Loosen the single screw on the lamp cover and open it; do not loosen any other screws.
- Loosen the two screws on the lamp unit, fold out its handle and pull the unit straight out by the handle (not while the projector is tilted); keep hands and metal objects out of the empty slot.
- Push the new LMP-D213 lamp fully in, tighten its two screws and fold the handle down, without touching the lamp glass or inner conductor.
- Close the lamp cover and tighten its one screw - the projector will not power on if the lamp is not secured properly.
- Reconnect the power cord, switch the projector on and reset the lamp timer.
Until you reset it, the VPL-DX147 keeps counting from the old lamp's hours and will warn that the new lamp is expiring.
