Benq MX611 projector lamp
The Benq MX611 takes lamp 5J.J3E05.001 . It comes as a complete module, with the bulb already fitted in its housing. The same lamp is also sold under 1 other part number, all listed below. It fits 4 Benq models in total.
The code moulded into your old lamp or printed on its housing may be any of these. They are the same part. If the code on your lamp appears in this table, it fits the Benq MX611.
| Code | Used by |
|---|---|
5J.J3E05.001 | Benq original part number |
5J.JGR05.001 | Equivalent code |
The code printed on your old lamp or its housing should match one of the codes listed above. Benq and third-party suppliers sell the same lamp under several numbers.
The model number is on a label on the base or rear of the projector, and in the on-screen menu under Information. Still unsure? Send a photo of the old lamp and we'll confirm the match.
If your projector is one of these rather than the MX611, the same lamp is the correct part.

At four hours a day, that is roughly 2.7 years in normal mode or 10.3 years in eco mode before the MX611 asks for a new lamp. Running it in eco mode is the single easiest way to stretch the lamp — at the cost of some brightness.
- Switch off and unplug the projector; if the lamp is hot, let it cool for about 45 minutes.
- Loosen the screw(s) holding the lamp cover on the side of the projector and take the cover off (never power on with the cover open).
- Disconnect the lamp connector, then loosen the screw(s) holding the lamp.
- Raise the handle and slowly draw the lamp out; pulling too fast can break it.
- Seat the new lamp, lining up its connector and the two locating points, and push it in until it locks.
- Reconnect the lamp connector, tighten the lamp screw(s) without over-tightening, and fold the handle flat until it locks.
- Refit the lamp cover, tighten its screw, then reconnect power and restart.
- If the projector is ceiling-mounted, make sure nobody is underneath the lamp socket.
Until you reset it, the MX611 keeps counting from the old lamp's hours and will warn that the new lamp is expiring.
