vlt-xd8000lp-projector-lamp
VLT-XD8000LP bare projector lamp

VLT-XD8000LP is a 330 watt bare bulb rated for 2000 hours, built for Mitsubishi's large-venue projector platform: the GX-8000, GX-8100, WD8200, UD8400 and XD8000 series. This is high-output equipment aimed at bigger venues, and the same lamp is shared across every resolution tier in the range, from XD8000U through to UD8400U.

You will see some models listed with a (BL) suffix, such as GU-8800(BL) or UD8350U BL: this marks a bundled or regional variant rather than a different lamp, and it still takes VLT-XD8000LP. As a bare bulb, it fits inside your existing housing without needing a replacement cage.

At a glance

Wattage — 330 W

Rated life — 2,000 hours

Type — Bare Projector Lamp

SKU — LA-09534

Compatibility — 22 projector models

Common questions

What does the (BL) after some model names, like GX-8000(BL), mean for the lamp?
It denotes a bundled or regional variant of the projector rather than a different internal lamp engine, so GX-8000(BL) and the standard GX-8000 both take the same VLT-XD8000LP bulb.

Does the UD8400U need a different lamp from the standard XD8000U, given the higher resolution?
No, despite the resolution difference both the UD8400U and XD8000U sit on Mitsubishi's shared large-venue lamp platform and take the identical VLT-XD8000LP bulb without any change in fit.

Is the LVP-WD8200 an older name for the WD8200?
Yes, LVP-WD8200 reflects Mitsubishi's earlier product naming for the projector later sold as the WD8200, WD8200U and WD8200LU, and all of them use VLT-XD8000LP regardless of the naming.

Why is this lamp rated at 330 watts, higher than most others in your catalogue?
Large-venue projectors like the GX-8000 and WD8200 range need more brightness to fill bigger screens, which is why Mitsubishi specified a higher-wattage lamp for this platform than for smaller office or home models.

Is a module version of this lamp available if my housing needs replacing too?
Yes, VLT-XD8000LP is also sold as a full module with housing included, for GX-8000, WD8200 and XD8000 units where the existing cage or connector is damaged.
