sp-lamp-042-projector-lamp-module
SP-LAMP-042 projector lamp with module

Eight projectors share the SP-LAMP-042 lamp and housing module: the Ask A3200 and seven Infocus models including the A3200, IN3104, IN3108, IN3184, IN3188, IN3280 and WS3240. It runs at 280 watts, higher than some lamps in this A-series family, with a 2,000-hour rated life.

This is a separate part number from the closely named SP-LAMP-041, which covers the A3100 and A3300 rather than the A3200, so check your model carefully as the two families sit side by side but are not interchangeable. The module includes a new housing; a bare-bulb version of SP-LAMP-042 is listed separately for existing housings still in good condition.

At a glance

Wattage — 280 W

Rated life — 2,000 hours

Type — Projector Lamp with Module

SKU — LA-08100

Compatibility — 8 projector models

Common questions

Is SP-LAMP-042 interchangeable with SP-LAMP-041 since the models look similar?
No. SP-LAMP-042 covers the A3200 and its related Infocus models, while SP-LAMP-041 covers the separate A3100 and A3300 family. The part numbers are not interchangeable despite the similar model naming.

Why is this lamp rated at 280 watts when other A-series lamps are lower?
SP-LAMP-042 is simply a different lamp platform to SP-LAMP-041, and Infocus specified a higher 280-watt rating for the A3200-based models compared with the A3100 and A3300 range.

Does the WS3240 use the same module as the Ask-branded A3200?
Yes, our records list the WS3240 alongside the A3200, IN3104, IN3108, IN3184, IN3188 and IN3280 as all sharing SP-LAMP-042, so this module is correct for any of them.

What is the rated lamp life on SP-LAMP-042?
It is rated for 2,000 hours, shorter than some other lamps in the wider A-series family, reflecting the higher 280-watt output this particular lamp runs at.

Should I buy the module if I am not sure whether my old housing fits SP-LAMP-041 or SP-LAMP-042 hardware?
Yes, buying the module removes that risk entirely, since the correct housing is supplied together with the bulb rather than depending on you matching an old part correctly.
