mt40lp-projector-lamp-module
MT40LP projector lamp with module

MT40LP is the complete module version of the lamp NEC fits to its MT1040, MT1045 and MT840 classroom projectors, including a new housing and connector rather than a bare bulb. It spans the E and J variants of all three models, and is also listed under the code 50018704 for the same part.

Choosing the module makes sense once a projector's original housing has aged or the connector no longer seats firmly, since both are replaced along with the bulb. If your existing cage is still sound, the bare version of this lamp, listed separately under 50018704, is the cheaper route.

At a glance

Type — Projector Lamp with Module

SKU — LA-09595

Compatibility — 8 projector models

Common questions

What's the benefit of the MT40LP module over the bare lamp?
The module includes a new housing and connector along with the bulb, worth the extra cost once your MT1040 or MT840's existing cage has aged or the connector fit has loosened.

Is 50018704 the same as MT40LP?
Yes, 50018704 is the alternative reference for this identical lamp, so either code will bring you to the same part for your MT-series projector without any confusion.

Does MT40LP fit the MT1040E variant?
Yes, the E suffix denotes a regional variant of the MT1040 built on the same lamp platform, so MT40LP is the correct module for it.

How were the MT1040 and MT1045 typically used?
NEC positioned both as classroom and meeting room projectors from an earlier generation, and MT40LP is the module lamp built for that pair along with the MT840.

Can I fit MT40LP myself without a technician?
Most MT-series projectors are designed for the lamp module to be accessed through a panel without tools beyond a screwdriver, though you should always let the projector cool and follow its own lamp-access instructions first.
